After a month-long wait, we are excited to update that Cloudyn for OpenStack is now available. This makes us the first and only cloud optimization platform capable of monitoring private, public, and hybrid cloud deployments. That’s kind of a big deal!

What’s the deal with Hybrid deployments?
Hybrid adoption is growing at a neck-breaking pace, and Gartner expects almost half of large enterprises will have a combined public/private hybrid cloud deployment by the end of 2017.

However, private and hybrid deployments are no less cumbersome to grasp and require just as much attention in order to understand usage, costs, and business impact for optimal and efficient results.

Application deployment interoperability is a huge grey area that companies need to resolve. Calculating associated resources and costs per project per platform is usually beyond human calculation. Say for example, you’re trying to find out where you can see your complete deployment, or you’re willing to find out which resources are being used and by which department. How about discovering which elements of the deployment should be moved to a public facility vs. kept on premise? These questions trouble many DevOps and IT Managers. Well, all these questions (and more) require the granular insights which Cloudyn will provide.

It’s no secret that OpenStack is the shining and rising star of the private cloud space. Its adoption levels are rising at impressive speed by companies of all sizes and for a variety of requirements, making it a natural choice for Cloudyn to build for.

What can you expect from Cloudyn for OpenStack?
IT Managers and DevOps will benefit from:

In-depth Usage and Cost Visibility – historical and current views of all resources on multiple cloud platforms, available by project, user, region, and tag.

Chargeback and Optimization in a Multi-cloud Environment – including chargeback and showback to relevant business units and departments. Optimized capacity planning for simple calculation and reallocation of resources required for handling short to medium-term goals.

Hybrid Cloud Cost Planning and Forecasting – illustrates how deployment, maintenance, and planned expansion really cost in terms of man-hours, electricity, HVAC (air conditioning) hardware, and virtual resources.

Multi-cloud Workload Comparisons – shows what deployment and cost look like on AWS vs. GCP vs. OpenStack, while factoring in cost, performance, compliance, availability of resources, failover, and disaster recovery.
